Maryland FSNE (Food Supplement Nutrition Education)

  • FSNE (Food Supplement Nutrition Education) is Maryland SNAP-Ed and is funded by USDA FNS to provide nutrition education to low-income audiences. This means that the schools that we work with need to have 50% or greater free and reduced meals eligibility.
  • We work under 3 main Initiatives to include preschool and childcare centers, school community sites, and out of school sites. This means that the nutrition education and the gardening activities are driven by the site, so they are not necessarily linked to clubs, but they are all tied to a curriculum.
  • FSNE currently has about 45 gardening projects are in the following counties:
    • Baltimore County
    • Baltimore City
    • Harford County
    • Carroll County
    •  Allegany County
    • Garrett County
    • Calvert County
    • Montgomery County
    • Prince Georges County

    • Dorchester County
