Parents and Children

Parents also play a large role in fueling the success of Farm to School programs.

Reinforcement of proper eating habits at home helps the efforts made by the other stakeholders in school. The resources provided in our “On the Web” section are meant to provide parents with general information about the benefits of Farm to School programs, as well as legislative updates pertaining to environmental education, which includes farm to school activities.

Parents can connect with local representatives to voice their support for Farm to School programs and when possible, are encouraged to volunteer with any current efforts in the school system or in the community.
